CBD is found in the Cannabis Sativa plant. At first, you may associate CBd and Cannabis which is legitimate but there are nuances in the process.
Very often people think CBD is Marijuana and they create the belief of CBD as a drug while it is not.
There is a distinction between Hemp-CBD derived and CBD derived from cannabis.
Hemp and cannabis are both part of the plant but the cannabinoid THC has been removed from Hemp. In 2019, the Farm Bill authorized the growth of Hemp plants and production of Hemp-CBD derived products as long as it contains less than 0.3% of THC.
According to Dr. June Chin, author of “Cannabis and Wellness”, CBD has many therapeutic benefits like reducing pain and inflammation, decreasing anxiety and helping sleep better. Stress relief and anxiety are the most common reason for people to use CBD. As Chin explained, “It tells your body to power down — so there is a relaxation component.” CBD products help the neurotransmitters regulating the nervous system.
In the time of Covid-19, everybody’s lifestyle and routine got shaken up. The fear of the disease, the increased unemployment rate, the enforced social-distancing and the on and off confinements are adding to the usual stress. It affected individuals mental health. All this pandemic situation might lead people to use CBD to cope with this difficult time and include CBD products in their wellness routine.
